Old-Fashioned Lemonade

An old time favorite! Nothing says “refreshing” better than fresh lemonade on a hot day! Note: Make extra lemonade and make “lemonade ice cubes”! These are perfect for avoiding the lemonade getting diluted by watery ice on those hot poolside days! Plus, they make handy (and inexpensive) “ice-pops” for the kids!

3 Large lemons, cleaned well and cut into eighths
1 to 1 1/2 cups sugar (Use sugar to taste… if you like sweeter lemonade - use more sugar, if you like tart lemonade – use less!)
7-8 cups cold water

In a blender or food processor, process the lemons, sugar and 1 cup water until the lemons are coarsely chopped.

Pour the lemon mixture through a fine sieve into a large pitcher. Add 6 to 7 cups of water to taste.

Stir, chill and serve over ice!
