WIN-It-Wednesday: John Morrell Worry-Free (Allergen Free) Meats

Fire-up those grills my friends, and let the parties begin! Sometimes barbeque-time can be a stressful time for those with food allergies since so many hot dogs and sausages are notorious for containing numerous allergens.

But worry no more!

This summer John Morrell has come out with Worry-Free Meat products. The hot dogs, smoked sausage and bologna are free of milk, nuts, soy, fish, eggs and gluten.

These products are great to have on hand during all summer barbeques, since they’re free of so many allergens. I had a small get together a few weekends back and three of the children at my house, each having three different allergies, all were able to enjoy these Worry-Free hot dogs. Cheers to John Morrell!

I find the best way to be worry free when travelling is to plan ahead, look up restaurants in the area that can provide Gluten-Free meals, and local health food and specialty grocery stores.

  2. Dana Says:

Thanks for the great giveaway :)))) For stress free relief , I take time out and go wander the thrift store. Rather then blowing up, and yelling at everyone, I spend some productive time, looking for things we need! It’s always like a treasure hunt! When I’m done, I’m feeling calmer and moved on!

    Thanks,

    Dana

TO KEEP MY STRESS LEVELS DOWN I GO WITH THE FLOW AND TRY NOT TO LET THINGS BOTHER ME.

  5. Elizabeth Says:

For me, exercise is the best stress reliever!

  6. Susan Brattin Says:

I try to reduce stress by making lists to consult, so I don’t have to remember everything. It worked very well for the 1st of our daughter’s 2 camping trips this year (had a “buy” (frozen so had to go straight into the cooler from the store), “grab,” and “do” list for the day she left), but not as well the 2nd as I didn’t cross-compare lists to see what needed to go on the “grab” list from her food substitutions menu for camp, so 2 things in the fridge had to be purchased en route to camp. (We were trying to locate her laundry bag from the 1st camp that hadn’t made it home with her the previous day and also had a trip to urgent care that morning so were a little more frazzled and tight for time than we’d anticipated being.)

  7. Cindy Says:

I keep worry free by starting out each morning saying two rosaries.

  8. Michie Page Says:

I remember that everything always works out in the end. To keep from worrying about food, I make things and freeze them ahead of time like Kinnikinnick buns filled with hot dogs, catsup, mustard and cheese.

  9. Paula Says:

I don’t sweat the things that I cannot change or control. There will always be dirty dishes, laundry to fold, dust to take care of, bad drivers on the road cutting me off, and rude people at the store.

I’ve learned to do what I can, say nothing but kind words to those who are angry, and let the bad drivers be bait for the officer on the highway. It’s been liberating!

  10. Lindy Says:

I make my life less stressful and worry-free by making sure I get exercise each and every day such as a nice thirty minute walk and I do aquafitness a couple of days a week. This not only makes you feel good but relieves stress as well and lets you release any worries you may have.

  11. Janet LaRue Says:

I have a couple methods of de-stressing my life…I walk out into my yard and head for my gardens-about an acre-and just see all the colors, and beauty. It makes life so much more pleasant and beautiful! I also talk things out with my girlfriend if life is getting me down. She is a great listener and makes things seem less worrisome. I don’t have sisters so she is like the sista I never had!

There is no doubt that stressfull things come into our lives. I feel like the difference is how you choose to deal with it. My Mom used to tell us that life is what you make it. If something isn’t fun, make it fun. It put the responsibility back on me to take ownership of my own life. I have tried to do that. Even in those serious times when things around you are not as planned and you don’t see your way out, keep a positive attitude. It will carry you a long, long, looonnng way.

P.S. As far as GF goes, I plan ahead!!!! That allieviates a ton a stress and tummy unhappiness. : )

    Greetings Gluten Free Gladiators,

How I de-stress Gluten Free shopping, it is like a role I take on: I am a Viking on a quest to conquer the menu planning, dining out adventures and price shock that all Gluten/Allergy Challenged people must meet each day. The bonus of the journey as I navigate the products, recipes and restaurant requests makes me proud when what I found, made or requested turns out great. It does get easier and websites with info helps alot. Stay informed, ask questions and contact companies and comment, or suggest the addition of gluten free products. General Mills is wonderful and they just made my day. They have added more gluten free products. General Mills also, labels the product clearly it makes life easier. So, thank you General Mills!!! All combined make the effort, plan ahead, ask questions and stay well.

For me there is nothing like a comedy movie or program at the end of a hard day, so I can laugh myself out of that place, plus a little ice cream ;o) sshh!!

  17. pat johnson Says:

I just taught how to be worry free to my Sunday School class last Sunday. Read Philippians 4:6-7. We must give our worries over to God and trust Him with them. Really, he knows better than we do anyway. Having the label read gluten-free is a big plus also. Thanks, John Morrell !!

  18. JoT Says:

Still working really hard on being worry free but I’m working on Prayer. I know it works, just have to remember to use it! Thanks for all the great info from your blog and web site.

To keep my stress levels down I try not to let things bother me and to exercise 5 days a week.

  21. Martha S. Kerr-Burke Says:

I deal with stress by ignoring it ! At my age, I learned a long time ago that to worry about everything only makes you sick & old before your time ! I used to be a worry wort (A term you don’t hear these days) and literally (?) worried about every thing and every one I cared about but one day I just said to myself-NO MORE, life is too short ! I don’t generally worry about what I eat but as I get older, I’m eating more sugar free &; fat free products. I really like the John Morrell product line !!!!!! Hope I win-THANK YOU

  22. Tam Says:

I work in the garden and walk to relieve stress and worries.

  23. Cindy Says:

Exercise is a wonderful stress reliever. I put on a great CD and dance around the house.

  24. Marilyn Kelly Says:

Always have something as a backup. But try not to make a big deal out of it. It’s all up to you.

  25. Kara Says:

I plan and make meals ahead, putting some extras in the freezer. That way when my boys are super hungry I always have something on hand that is ready to go pretty quickly! I also bring safe snacks to have on hand wherever we go. I make as much of my kids’ lunches as I can the night before so I am not so rushed in the morning.

  26. Debi Says:

Mmmm…worry free sausages. Yum My yummy casserole dishes are coming back into the diet. Happy dance!!!

  27. Tamela Says:

I try to save $ at the grocery store with coupons and when things get really stressful, I have to remember to take a step back and find my breathe.

  28. Susan C - AZ Says:

I relieve stress and worry different ways: sharing my troubles and my joys with my dear loving friends, expressing gratitude for EVERYTHING good in my life and always being thrifty in everything I buy. This makes me proud and able to share my time, talent and treasures with others. Prayer and meditation also help maintain my peace of mind. There is no greater power in my life than God. I am so thankful everyday for Him and so much more. If you want to know what brings me joy, then it’s eating hot dogs! 🙂
